What I'm loving right now

Hello lovelies, first of all apologies for not posting for a while. I read all of your comments though and can't wait to check out all these lovely blogs! I have been busy at uni over the last week with a horrible assignment that I finally have finished. My parents have also just returned from a Caribbean cruise too so I've been catching up with them too. They brought me the most amazing volcano face mask/ cleanser back which I am currently raving about, I'll hopefully do a post about this soon. Today's post is all about my favourite things at the moment, which I high recommend to anyone.

Tangle Teezer by Shaun P

With trying to grow my hair at the moment I have skipped my 6-8 week regular trim and lasted for 12 weeks this time. This has meant my hair has been a bit hard to tame. So I bought this brush from ebay after hearing so much about it. It was featured on Dragon's Den and they turned it down and I bet they're kicking themselves now. You can use it on wet hair or dry and it goes through my hair without even a slight tug or pull. I use it to brush conditioner through my hair too and it does no damage and leaves my hair so soft. I don't know what I would do without this brush now and if you haven't got one get to ebay/amazon or boots and get one! I think mine was around £8.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara

I'm loving this mascara at the moment. I got this for my birthday so I'm not sure how much it is but it is from the Soap and Glory Makeup range sold at boots. The brush is so big on this and coats my lashes without clumping in like 3 swoops. It also gives great volume without my lashes looking too clumpy and stuck together, which can be a problem with some mascaras. I really do recommend this mascara as I have tried so many. Because of the size of the brush it also lifts my lashes really well making them curl nice and high.

Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer

Now that my skin is over it's dry spell I can actually wear concealer and foundation without it flaking off. So I am loving using this concealer to cover my dark circles and imperfections. For some reason I only ever get spots in between my eyebrows, which is really annoying and this covers any imperfections perfectly. It's a good colour for me (medium) as concealers are usually too lights or pink toned, but this is a yellow tone which suits my skin. It is also easy to apply with a sponge like applicator that goes on nice and doesn't look cakey. It also lasts for ages and is so cheap. I got this on the 3 for 2 offer at boots so I think it was free but it's very cheap to buy.

Body Shop Born Lippy: Watermelon

My friends once bought me one of these when I was around 14 and I loved it so much, then I forgot about it until recently. It is a little sticky but smells beautiful and goes on my lips a lovely nude pink colour, leaving them so soft and smelling nice. The body shop also sells them in other colours/ flavours for around £2 which is an absolute bargain for these little beauties. They're lovely to use in the day to give a nice bit of colour and to hydrate your lips. The packaging is also cute and they are lovely to use on holiday, I will definitely be taking this with me.

Hoola by Benefit

I bought this after buying a horrible bronzer with shimmer in which made my face look really mucky. It is around £23 which is quite expensive although I can see this is already going to last me for ages. It is a lovely buildable bronze colour without shimmer! I really dislike the shimmery bronzers they don't contour properly and just make my face look like I've had a bad spray tan. I have been using this everyday and it is still pretty much full. I love the packaging as it is unusual for a bronzer and comes with a little blue brush which is good to contour your cheeks with as it is a straight brush. So I'm really loving this and would definitely recommend to any bronzer lovers like me!

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense!

Good afternoon hope everyone is well, I'd firstly like to say thank you to all of my new followers I can't believe I this many already and I love reading all of your comments and checking out other blogs.

So today's post is about Clinique's Moisture surge instense face cream. My Mum bought me this as one of my birthday presents because my skin was going through hell around February time and was just so flakey and dry. I do have eczema on my hands and in the bends of my body like inner elbows and behind my knees, but I have never had such dry skin on face! It was literally driving me mad I didn't want to go out of the house and my forehead, cheeks and just above my lip went through stages of sore, dry and red. I felt it was embarassing and I couldn't cover it up with makeup as it dried into the dry skin and just looked patchy. After trying all the perscribed aqueous creams and E45 creams I found that nothing worked. But from the first day I started using this cream I found that my face was instantly hydrated and the dry patches were going away.

This cream is for very dry to dry combination skin although you can get one that is just moisture surge and not intense, which would suit normal skin. But this cream is actually a saviour for me. It is expensive at £30 but it is so worth the money. Clinique describe it as 'a rich cream-gel which rehydrates in a flash for a full 24 hours. Daily use helps fortify and repair skins moisture barrier. Oil-free formula with aloe soothes, smooths, plumps up dry fine lines'.

It is a creamy-gel texture and a little bit goes a long way. When my skin was very dry I used it every day but now I only have to use it once or twice a week. From the picture you can see how much I have left and I have had it since February which is pretty good going. Obviously if you don't have dry skin problems like me I wouldn't recommend you use this but all of the clinique products are so good. But if you do have dry skin patches or that tight dry skin feeling this is the cream for you. It works better than any cream I have ever had prescribed for me. The packaging is also lovely with very simple but classy glass container with an easy screw top lid.

Sorry this is such a long post but I really do feel strongly about this product. I got this from Debenhams and because it was bonus time my Mum also got a little make up bag with mini clinique products which is really good. You can buy this cream from here although I do recommend going to the clinique stand in Debenhams/ Boots/House of Fraser because the consultants are really good at assessing your skin and finding you the best products.

I would also like to thank Amy at All the little things for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Thank you so much for this it's so great to be given two awards in one week! But as I have just done an award I am just going to post this on my blog and anyone who I nominated for the Versatile Blog Award can also have this award too.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will hopefully post next week. Although I may be a little rushed off my feet returning back to uni and doing an assignment. I will still try squeeze a good post in.

Love for Avon

Happy Easter everybody! At the moment I'm home from Uni for 2 weeks and with all my friends back home we had a reunion night out. My Mum always brings the Avon brochure home as one of her friends at work is a rep and she always lets me choose some things that I like (such a good Mum). I noticed the new Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation and put an order in straight away. It was also on offer for £7 instead of £12 I think so even better! I did have difficult picking the colour though as my usual shade looked really light and I would not consider myself to have light skin. Anyway 2 weeks later the foundation came in shade Golden. This is a teeny bit dark but when I go out I wear St Tropez so actually it suited me perfect.

So this is me when I went out on Monday. Apologies for the bad picture I'm not very photogenic and just wanted a picture to show how nice the foundation sets. It really is such a good foundation, especially for the price. It goes on nicely more of a medium coverage but it is build able. I like that it isn't too matte looking and it gives my dry skin a healthy glow. Avon products are really good value for money and a good quality, a lot of people don't think of looking at Avon products and I think it is very underrated. This foundation campaign is also fronted by Alesha Dixon.

You can get the Avon Ideal Flawless foundation from your local avon rep or on the avon website here. It comes in so many shades for light/medium and dark (15 shades in total). I have never seen an avon foundation come in so many shades which is pretty impressive, so I'm sure there is a match for everyone. I think I'm going to purchase another bottle in a lighter shade for everyday because I love it so much! Have you tried any Avon products or this foundation?

P.S My castor oil came and I am currently sat with it on my head it smells gorgeous and I'm so excited to track my results.

Burts Bees

I went into boots at the weekend and they are currently doing a massive 3 for 2 offer over almost everything (makeup, bath, body, haircare etc). It's my boyfriends Mum's birthday this week so I went in with my boyfriend to find her a present. However came out with this little Burt's Bees Tips and Toes Kit free for myself! We bought his Mum some Sanctuary gift sets and got this for myself free on the 3 for 2 offer (very happy).
I have always wanted to try the Burt's Bees range since reading about it in an aeroplane duty free magazine but have never got round to it. Anyway I am loving the kit and the ingredients are natural and the honey smell is amazing. So this is the kit with the miniature products for your hands, feet and lips.

This foot cream is amazing. I put it on my feet before I went to bed then put socks over the top and woke up and my feet were so soft. Unbelievable stuff and they smelt like coconuts!

They are small products but they would be perfect to fit in your handbag or take away on holiday. They are also good if like me you haven't tried any of the products before. I think the price of this is £12.99 which is good but for free it's even better. In the kit you get a pomegranate oil and honey lip balm, beeswax hand cream, thoroughly therapeutic honey & grape seed oil hand cream, coconut foot cream, hand salve and a lemon butter cuticle cream. They all smell absolutely gorgeous and the products do look impressive and the packaging does look kind of natural too if you know what I mean.
I have yet to use some of the products but trust me I have smelt them all and they are so nice. Makes me want to go out and buy the full size products. Have you tried any Burt's Bees products before?

Catch up

Feeling very bad as I haven't blogged in ages! I have been on teaching placement for the last 6 weeks so been none stop planning, teaching and making notebook slides. Anyway time for a catch up! One good thing is I have lots of things to blog about so this week I will probably be posting something new everyday. So first of all on to my most recent purchase.

Hollywood beauty Castor Oil. I ordered this last night after reading so many good reviews about it and watching numerous youtube results videos. I have been stuck with my past the should length hair for years now and it just wont get past this stage. So I have resorted to ordering this last night from Ebay. I can't wait to receive this and get it slapped on my hair. The reviews claim that if applied to the scalp and ends of the hair once a week it can make your hair stronger/ shinier and longer! I am going to try the 12 week challenge to see if my hair actually grows. I will keep you updated with whether or not this stuff works, has anyone else tried this before? Let me know your results or miracle hair products, I am so hoping it works.
