Say Hello To Strobing

Sorry Kim K but it seems contouring has taken a back seat to the new Strobing makeup technique. This may come as welcome news to those who struggle to sculpt their face or find it rather ridiculous doing what may seem like colouring by numbers everyday. Strobing is the technique of highlighting the high points of your face which naturally catch the light, enhancing your inner glow! But to pull this look off a flawless glowy base is crucial, which means having a killer skincare routine. So girls instead of sculpting your face treat your skin well and even invest in brightening moisturisers such as Korres Wild Rose Brightening Cream.  Once you've nailed the skincare routine you need to add that luminescent glow to your skin, Mac are leading the way with their Strobe Cream but a dupe for this is the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer, giving you the perfect glowy base. Then to finish off the 'strobing' use a liquid highlighter like my favourite Benefit's High Beam. I must admit I am pretty pleased about this new trend, considering I don't have the greatest cheekbones but I love a good highlighter!

How do you feel about contouring taking a back seat?
Will you be adding 'strobing' to your look?

  1. I really like a glow look but don't feel like I can pull it off due to my oily skin x

    1. Yes I couldn't really comment on the look for oily skin because mine is dry, so it works quite well for me luckily! xx

  2. I love the look of this trend and it definitely seems easier that contouring! Another skincare product I'd add to your mix, is the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil (even though its a bit of a mouthful to say/type haha!) - I'm loving this cleanser at the moment and find that it really works in brightening my complexion! :) x

  4. I like the sound of strobing, but I'd say there's a fine line between strobing & the disco-ball effect! xx
